I am as excited as the next fan, but it's true that we need to temper our expectations of him and let him be eased into a starter role. Good read mike.

Yeah exactly. Not expecting him to light the world on fire, but I do expect that he'll be significantly better than anything Garon can bring us. Ergo, I think Lindback will be out #1 guy.

Thanks!

Can't wait for the upcoming Lindback vs. Markstrom and Stamkos vs. Huberdeau battles- let the rest of the hockey world thumb their noses if they please, we in Florida are gonna have some FUN cross-state battles!

It is going to be an absolute riot! The makings of a good rivalry. Add in Gudbranson and Hedman and this thing will be incredible to watch. Thanks for reading.

Having traded two second round picks, a third round pick and Sebastien Caron for Lindback, the Lightning has made a commitment to better goaltending in the future.

I didn't realize the price to get him was so high. Yzerman must have confidence in him. He'll have to play well to justify the price, but he will only look as good as the team defense in front of him will allow him to. I wish him luck!

Yes the price was "high", but that high price has been set previously from the Varlamov type deals with multiple high round picks being exchanged for young high potential goaltenders.

Yeah, price was certainly high, but give the amount of draft picks Yzerman acquired in deals, it actually made a ton of sense. We didn't really lose any draft positioning with the deal. Benefits are potentially huge.

Speaking of picks aquired in deals, would you care to share your thoughts on the moves to swap Downie for Quincey, then swapping Quincey for a 1st rounder which became goalie Andrey Vasilevskiy?

Fantastic move for the Bolts, in my opinion. Not trying to be biased as a fan here, but the reality is, with Cory Conacher, Tyler Johnson and JT Brown all now in the system, the need for Downie has been diminished. At the time, you could argue that it was a little bit confusing, but now it's nothing. Vasilevski provides the Bolts with one of the better goaltending prospects in the entire league; I know Adam French gave him a ringing endorsement just a few weeks ago. I like it a lot. With Tokarski, Lindback and Vasilevski (along with a couple others) in the system, the Bolts are set in net for a long time.

Young goalies are gambles. I guess the Lightning are holding on to three lottery tickets with the potential for a huge payoff.

I wish Philly still had Downie

You guys got Carle back after all.

That plan kind of back fired on you guys, I suppose. No Suter, and then Carle leaves. Best be getting Yandle or Bouwmeester at some point, otherwise you're in trouble IMO.

It's good thing Syracuse can score, because I goalies couldn't stop a freaking beach ball right now.

Neither Tik nor Helenius has been overly impressive so far this season...

Dustin's first 12 of the season were good, but then he just decided to take his Dwayne Roloson pill one night and woke up and train wreck.
Helenius has just been flat and is still adjusting to the NA game, but I am staring to think we sent the wrong guy to the KHL.

No need, we got Luke Schenn!

(only half joking)
